BABY CHATMAN QUILT! from Kwilty Pleasures

A new great-grand daughter arrives in January.
I made her quilt, long before she was a gleam in her daddies eyes!

I was at Ocean Isle Beach a few years ago and made
a test pattern using Into the Woods Jelly Rolls...
I've always loved Lil'' Red !

The pattern was called TYPE and a very quick and easy make.

There was a local garden, not far from the beach
so I made a journey there for a photo op...
Into the Woods.

Then home it came and sat on a shelf for several years.
Now that Baby Chatman was ...

FALL BREEZE KINDA WAS A BREEZE from Kwilty Pleasures

This was a quilt my friend Kathy Guenther made
and I fell in love with it.
Yes, I'll make it too.

I've always wanted a vibrant fall quilt.
I love the fall colors, and I love GRUNGE fabrics.
Seemed like perfect choice for...
FALL BREEZE

I drug my feet on making this one.
I was leery of all the HST.
It took a while to cut, bag and label all the
pieces and then it SAT for about a year.

I like to use a KEY card to label my fabrics
and make sure my colors will fit ...

Finally one ...

CHURNING OUT SOME WONKY! from Kwilty Pleasures

I have a trunk show available for groups, guilds called
"Let's Get WONKY"

The idea is to take a traditional quilt block
and make it wonky.

That's the idea here and I used
Missouri Star, Freestyle Churn dash tutorial
I had a Layer Cake and needed to give
this a try.

I love the result!

The backing uses same concept, my design, on a larger scale.

I gave it to Kim Hensley of
Happily Every Quilting.
We decided on the E2E Design WHITESPACE!
It's just perfect for this one.

Take a closer peek at it.

Here's ...

FLYIN HIGH WITH A GAGGLE OF GEESE from Kwilty Pleasures

I used to despise making FG quilts.
That is til this one.

Several years ago Kim Hensley gave me the
pattern and a Layer Cake to make this quilt.

It didn't take too long to make.
AND I didn't cut off too many geese noses!

I also had some yardage in my stash to make the backing.

A great black and gray stripe for the binding, also in my stash.

A fall day presented a great photo op

I love how this gaggle of geese hangs in the dining room

and ...

A QUILT FOR LARESSA from Kwilty Pleasures

Laressa lives in Myrtle Beach and has always helped me
with my resort reservations when I visit Eric
She also looks after him and treats him like one of her own.

Last Christmas when I visited, she said, I have a wish
for next Christmas.  I’d love a quilt.
And so that wish is being granted.

I had some batiks in beachy colors
that were perfect for her quilt.

A quick and easy patter
and this one was finished in no time.

I even had enough batiks for a backing
and binding.

For this one I sewed the binding ...

WONKY CHURN DASH from Kwilty Pleasures

I have wanted to make a wonky churn dash block
quilt for a very long time.
I had an Autumn Woods Layer Cake
from Kate and Birdie.

I wanted something fall-ish for my great room.

Sew I snooped around the internet and found a
Freestyle Churn Dash tutorial by
Missouri Star.
Seemed like a good idea.
No need to reinvent the wheel
if the car is already moving!

Just google Freestyle Churn Dash, Missouri Star
to find the tutorial.
I also found a pattern, but I preferred the tutorial.
YOU DON"T NEED an entire LC to make the
top ...

SWEET MAE PATTERN TEST! from Kwilty Pleasures

I was thrilled when asked to pattern test for Katie Zahm.
The Sweet Mae Pattern was adorable.

I began with some Zen Chic FQs some
friends had given me as gifts.
The line was called Frisky.
I chose a spotted GRUNGE for a background fabric.

It was such a fun design that began with a star!

I committed to make one block
To test her pattern instructions, and
If  time allowed I’d make 4 blocks
For the baby Quilt size.

Even though each block contained 81 pieces
It was such a rewarding make.

I ended up making 6 blocks ...

SUMMER PICNIC! from Kwilty Pleasures

MAY DAY! MAY DAY!
TODAY IS MY BIRTHDAY!

and here's a wonderful quilt for all the
SUMMER FUN!

This pattern is PICNIC by Cluck, Cluck, Sew
and it doesn't get much better than that!

I've used a FQ bundle of a beachy and vintage feel.
Fabrics with beachballs, umbrellas, bathing beauties and diners
bring a summer feel to this beauty!

Check out a close up.
The prints are just FUN!
The Quilting is an E2E wave design.
Patty Estadt was the long arm quilter for this one!

Doesn't it look charming hanging over a railing
at ...
